Cool, man. I really like the pencil sketch (second down). Shame the project came to nothng...
That would have been incredible to see you work on a Sandman project, and hopefully Neil would have been involved.
These are stellar J! It would have been amazing to see you do something with the Sandman series. Unfortunate it didn't come together though. My favorite are the first two but they are all amazing. I'll add these to the site later on tonight.
I can't think of an artist that would be better suited to this material than you- shame it didn't come to pass.
Ah crap, what a disappointment! You end up drawing watermen in the desert and could have been on this :(
(swinging by from the Neil-link)Very, very nice pieces. It's a shame that the project never came together.I'm put in mind of some work I saw by some very, very talented (and widely esteemed) friends of mine who worked up a proposal to adapt a Certain Comic Fantasy Novel to the graphic form. The illustrations and scripts I saw were astoundingly, startlingly, gorgeously brilliant.Sadly, the Esteemed Author of the Certain Comic Fantasy Novel saw fit to adapt his work himself, and engage another (published, it must be said) artist for the work.It was Total Pants, unfortunately.
Also here via the Neil-post. Those are gorgeous pieces. I'm crushed that project didn't come to fruition.
Hey Josh, in case you missed it, Neil Gaiman linked this post from his site. Nice work as usual.
Oh yeah Sandman is my favourite!!!
Oh, Dream! I really like your take on the Sandman. He looks a bit younger and more "Rock", just livelier. A pity the project was never realized; your style combined with Neil Gaiman's stories would have been awesome.
The blue and the pencil ones are trully amazing drawings, why on earth anyone would cancel such a good looking project?
a very late comment, but Gaiman's Sandman is one of my favorite characters and you are one of my favorite artists. thank you so much for sharing these drawings!!
Too bad the project fell through... just started reading the Sandman series and it is wicked awesome. These are some mighty fine images here too. Thanks for posting them!
