Happy New Year- and last JLA cover

Happy New Year! I hope 2008 is a fruitful and productive year for us all. Best wishes to each and every one of you!

Here is my last cover of 2007, completed a couple of days ago. It also completes the JLA Classified arc. Although this cover doesn't really look like "me", it was fairly enjoyable to work on. The original is drawn in pencil, and the rock formations were shaded in pencil as well, which provided a nice textured base for the color, which was done in Photoshop CS2.

I'm not much for resolutions, but I do plan on making 2008 a strong creative year. The stars have been aligning to that end, and I am excited to share more personal work in the coming months. Endless thanks to all of those who have kept an interest in my work.

More soon,

Joshua

My favorite of the lot. The colors are much more vibrant than your usual work, but it suits well for the subject matter.

Blog looks great as well.

Happy New Years.

Funny, I think it looks a bit like the lot are all biting their lips. Must be the resolution (as in size) of the image. Here's to a happy and successful new year to you. ^_^

This is a very well executed color palette. I like the red background on the cool foreground. Good choice to have a green middle ground with Superman in the front.

One thing that caught my eye was the MMH (green guy in the back) seems a bit off in perspective. He looks as though he's on the same plane as Green Lantern, but in a different angle. He's taller, which you most likely did on purpose, I don't know the character that well, but it almost seems like he's on a rock that we can't see. For the angle you have you did very well and I do believe this is the best one thus far.

Happy new year and I can't wait to see more personal projects from you. :)

NICE!

yeah, nice colors too and iconic

i think it has to do with "green guy's" left leg being cut and him being lower to the ground

Happy New Year! :)
The cover looks great... like you said, not your usual stuff, but it's exciting to see experiments with working method on something that doesn't necessarily require your signature look.
That being said, I'm really excited to see what the new year brings... it seems like you've got some much more personal projects to post work from ^_^

I am so amazed by any and all of the images you've posted, man. I wish I could pick your brain and ask you questions about all of them. The point of my envy stems from the fact that your images are so....warm(?) and approachable. That's a hard set of tumblers to unlock and you do so seemingly so effortlessly. I'm floored.

Thanks for sharing and I swear I'm going to make a point to come back here more often and be less of a blog hermit.

Love the perspective :) I think Superman's head is a little big though? Superb work anyway, love the color job.

I wanted to point out the colors are wrong. That isn't Wonder Woman but Black Canary. It's clear in the text of the issue but the interior colorist got it wrong and did a WW color job.

It is Wonder Woman, seeing as though Josh is the colorist for the cover :)
