WOW! This is an amazing well done artwork! I love the pose. Congrats on your work, is excellent!
Hey Josh, how did you get the lines so dark if it's in pencil? I'm not Photoshop-knowledgeable.
Are you going to be doing anymore interiors? Also, were you taken off the American Virgin covers? Thanks, and keep up the amazing work!
Thanks for the comments, everyone. To "love collective": Pencil lines can easily be darkened by adjusting the levels or brightness/contrast in Photoshop or any other photo editing software. It is just like adjusting the picture on your TV. That said, my pencil lines are fairly dark because I tend to draw with a softer lead, so adjustments can sometimes be very minimal. A lot depends on the look I am going for; if I want a darker, almost inked look, I might crank up the contrast a bit, but usually, if I draw in pencil, I want to retain some of the natural softness of the line, so I try not to go nuts with tweaks. Thanks for your question.Daniel, I will draw interior artwork again, however, probably not for any of the major U.S. publishers anytime soon. I will keep producing covers so long as they will have me, but the bulk of my time is going to be spent on interiors for something completely different. I'll talk about what that is just as soon as I get enough under my belt. Please do continue to check the blog for updates. To answer your second question, I decided to retire from the American Virgin covers after drawing eleven of them. It was an enjoyable run and it afforded me the opportunity to experiment a bit, but after a while, the subject matter just wasn't speaking to me so I decided it was better to move on than to do the book a disservice by producing uninspired covers. Thanks again for stopping by, folks.J
