I think you are referring to the straight lines down and across the image. Those are guide lines for me to keep the features lined up. This particular image is an extreme close-up, which can be really tough for a couple of reasons, one of which is keeping everything in the right place. I'll talk about it more when I post some more process photos in the near future.
Personally, I tend to play fast and loose with them whenever I draw, at my own peril, unless I'm REALLY paying attention. I love pictures like these for their demystifying nature. Looking forward to those process pics. And the sure-to-be-excellent final results.
I can't get over how much your wonder woman image resembles Jaime Alexander, the actress who played Sif in Thor. Did you use her as a reference or have her in mind when you did this piece?
I am not familiar with the actress. I drew the face with no one in particular in mind, other than the idealized image of Wonder Woman I had in my mind. I actually didn't quite capture the face I had in mind, but after coloring it, I got a little closer.
I'll keep my eyes out for Sif if I get around to seeing Thor.
I love your artwork by the way, i bought many an issue of Supergirl b/c of your covers alone. If you get a chance please stop by my blog i did a Supergirl redesign i'd like to get your thoughts on. I know your busy though. Any keep up the amazing work!

Josh,
Are those lines directly connected to the drawing, or are they related to the background or some other aspect of the page?

Ok, thanks for responding. Your art is amazing. Here's a picture of the actress, the resemblance, imho is uncanny:
