Work is keeping me busy and away from the blog, so with apologies, here is a little wizard I sketched the other night for fun. He's not perfect, but I liked him enough to color him. And just to keep the process junkies happy: He was drawn in blue pencil on 8.5" x 11" copy paper, inked with markers, and colored in PS CS4.
I'll try to come back soon with a more substantial post, maybe with the finished cover for Supergirl 45 and some thoughts about the coloring process.
Thanks so much to everyone for the comments. I may not always respond, but I read them all and always appreciate your thoughts.
More soon,
Joshua

I really like the more simplified cartoony look.

Nice wizard!! I wish you had the time to do more fairy tale type work. I know you like to create that type of material, and its the stuff I enjoy the most from you! Those wraparound fantasy coves you did were very inspiring. I loved those! They reminded me of Rakham and Dulac.
Thanks for the comments, folks.
Craig, I love drawing fantasy/fairy tale stuff more than anything else. It is pitiful that I have barely drawn anything I would call "fantasy", but that will change soon enough. I'll have more about that soon.
And you have produced some nice fairy tale work yourself!
